This is with reference to your request to modify State Permit #91-96, which was issued to Bald Head Island,
Limited on June 3, 1996. The permit expires on 11/15/16.(NOTE: The expiration date of this permit has been extended
in accordance with Session Law 2009406, as amended by Session Law 2010-177.) The action proposed in your submittal
is to construct 6' wide stairs with a 6' in length by 6' in width stair landing, leading to D-dock, within the Deep Point
Marina, in Southport, Brunswick County.
Upon reviewing the information provided, the Division of Coastal Management has determined that the proposed
action is consistent with existing State rules and regulations and is in keeping with the original purpose and intent of the
permit. This Letter of Refinement authorizes the modification of State Permit 991-96, as described in your letter and
plans dated and received June 4, 2013.
Please note this refinement does not authorize any plan changes not expressly described above and does not
alleviate the need to obtain any other state or federal permits or authorizations. By copy of this letter we are also notifying
the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers of our action. If you have any questions concerning the above or if I can be of any
other assistance, please advise.

Dear Ms. Coats:
This letter of refinement request is submitted on behalf of Bald Head Island Limited, LLC for CAMA
Permit #91-96 Deep Point Marina, 1301 Ferry Rd, Southport, NC. The subject of this request is for
(pervious) wood steps from the future mixed use space down to the existing D-Dock Landing. I have
dropped off 5 copies of an 11"xlT' color LAMA L.O.R. Drawing 91-96 seat dated 6-4-13 for this
project. The drawing includes the adjacent southwest end of the marina area, showing both existing
and future previously permitted items. The dock steps are indicated in red.
Note that we are already permitted a 60' long wood handicap ramp plus two sets of steps leading up to
the mixed use site to the right hand side of the D-Dock Landing in the drawing. Today's proposal may
allow for a simplification of the ramp/steps when we eventually build the mixed use building. The
buildingtramp are not in this year's budget.
