DAM- 0"Clor Bald Head Island Limited, LLC c/o Bruce Marek 5489 Eastwind Road Wilmington, NC 28403 marekyd@ec.r.com Dear Mr. Marek, NORTH CAROLINA. fnvRanmenWQualfry February 28, 2019 This is with reference to the request received by Tara MacPherson, Field Specialist, to refine State Permit No. 91-96, which was issued to Bald Head Island Limited, LLC on 6/3/96 for the construction of Deep Point Marina located adjacent to the Cape Fear River/AIW W, in Southport, Brunswick County. State Permit No. 91-96 has been modified, refined, and renewed several times since issuance. State Permit No. 91-96 is due to expire on December 31, 2020. The action proposed in your submittal is to install a 145 sq. ftconcrete pad, measuring 14.4 ft wide by 10 ft. long, at the Deep Point Marina Maintenance Building adjacent to the bulkhead landward of slip GA The concrete pad would be adjacent to the existing crane pad and would be within the 30 ft. coastal shoreline buffer. This new development would be installed in leu of the authorized 150 sq. ft. concrete pad that was never build landward of slip G-3 (see Sheet 1 of 1). Upon reviewing the information provided, the Division of Coastal Management has determined that the proposed action is consistent with existing State rules and regulations and is in keeping with the original purpose and intent of the permit. This Letter of Refinement authorizes the modification of State Permit No. 91-96 as described in your letter, February 25, 2019 and one (1) workplan drawing dated February 25, 2019. Please note this refinement does not alleviate the need to obtain any other local, state or federal permits. Dear Ms. MacPherson, This Letter of Refinement Request is to add an appx 145 sf concrete pad at the Deep Point Marine Maintenance Building between the existing Crane Pad and the roofed propeller shaft storage enclosure to the waterside of the marine maintenance building. The pad shape is appx 14.4' x 10' = 145 sf +/-. Currently in the much modified CAMA Permit, I have the area showing a wood walk and stairs, which were never built, as it is just as easy to walk down the crane pad and onto the marine maintenance pier. The 2009 W.K. Dickson CAMA and Stormwater SW8-951012 Mod Drawings showed the concrete crane pad with the concrete access turnout to the prop shaft storage area. We did not have a forklift at the time, and were on a tight budget, so the concrete was "value engineered" out of the project. 5 sealed originals, 2-25-19, of my drawing, C1 are included. I have long had a 150 sf concrete pad in our CAMA Permit, as well as proposed sidewalk to the south of the Marine Maintenance Building. For this LOR, I would like to permanently swap the 150 sf on the south side of the propshaft storage area back to the north side back to where it was on the stormwater drawing, now as 145 sf. I am including 11x17 versions of the W.K. Dickson Stormwater Drawings C-6.2 and C-6,2A, both seal dated 6-11-08, a marine maintenance area grading detail, and CAMA 91-96 Master Site Plan seal dated 1/25/07. Pdf file sizes from the E size drawing files were in excess of 13 megs each, so it was just as easy to plot the higher resolution out as 11x17 Reference Drawings then to e-mail.
