This letter of refinement is in reference to your 13 April 2000 correspondence
requesting a modification of Major CAMA Permit Number 69-96 issued to the City of
Washington on 9 May 1996 and modified on 9 September 1998 and 25 May 1999,
Permit Number 69-96 was issued for the construction of the North Carolina Estuarium,
bulkhead, docks, and a wetland creation area. The project site is on Water Street in the
City of Washington on the Pamlico River in Beaufort County, North Carolina.
Your request to modify the aforementioned permit to construct a "handicap
accessible" boat dock/ramp per the attached plat dated 21 February 2000 and revised 7
April 2000 is hereby althorzgd. All permit conditions still apply and remain unchanged.
Your revised plats dated 7 April 2000 illustrating the authorized change will become a
part of your permit and file and construction should be accomplished accordingly.

If at any time after the Certificate of Appropriateness is issued, the terms of the

Any changes made to the approved plans must be reviewed by the City Department
of Planning and Development prior to being undertaken.
