I went out on the site last week on 10/14 - 8:30 at the low tide. The deepest depths I could find in the mouth of the
canal was 3.2' or 38-39". 1 can issue a general permit to allow for a dredge depth of -39" at normal low water
"NLW". The predicted tide that day was for a 0.29' above 0' NLW at the time I took soundings.
I know you were looking for up to 49" at the normal low water line, however, I could not find the connecting depth
sufficient for hat proposal. There are several options we can look into moving forward.
1. You can receive a permit to dredge to -39" @NLW up to 1,000 cubic yards
2. You can increase the dredge footprint at the mouth to an area where you achieve the desired -49" @NLW.
3. 1 can perform another depth measurement at low tide and see if there was wind driven tides which may have
affected my soundings on the 14t".
a. I can perform this myself or,
b. I can join you on a vessel if you would prefer and provide one so that we can take the measurements
together and agree on a suitable water depth of connecting waters.
