This correspondence is in reference to your letter submitted to this Division dated August
30, 2002 whereby you requested permission to amend CAMA Major Permit rim This
permit was issued for the construction of a 74-slip marina and residential subdivision adjacent
Bogue Sound, off Highway 58, in Indian Beach, Carteret County, North Carolina. You
specifically requested to be allowed to install boatlifts in the remaining slips of the marina. Based
on our calculations, currently there are boatlifts installed in 18 of the 74 slips and you propose to
do the remaining 56 slips over the life of the permit.
Based on our review, the project remains consistent with the rules of the Division and as
long as the development is constructed in accordance with your letter dated August 30, 2002 and
the associated plat, please consider this as authorization to proceed with the
work. Please note that all original permit conditions remain in force unless amended by this
letter.
Again, you may consider this letter as authorization to proceed with the proposed
development. We processed this request as a letter of refinement and not a minor modification,
am returning your $100 check, since there is no fee associated with the refinement. I do
appreciate your efforts to comply with the permit requirements of the Division. If you have any
questions, please don't hesitate to contact Ms. Tracey Wheeler or myself.

This letter is a follow up on our recent telephone conversation in which you
described the procedure to be followed for the installation of boatlifts in the
marina at Sea Isle Plantation North.
It is hereby requested that a permit be issued to Sea Isle Plantation North
Homeowners Association for the installation of boatlifts in the remaining slips in
our marina. Attached is a sketch of the typical boat slip additions that have been
used in previous permit submissions.
Enclosed is a check for $100 to facilitate this process. Please move forward as
quickly as possible to address this long-standing concern.
