This letter of refinement is in reference to your 22 March 2000 correspondence
requesting a modification of Major CAMA Permit Number 111-96 issued on 29 July
WAYNE MCDEVITT
1996, renewed on 23 November 1999 and subsequently modified on 24 February 2000.
SECRETARY
Major CAMA Permit No. 111-96 was issued to you for the construction of 465' of
bulkhead, a 6' x 350' dock landward of the bulkhead, and to fill a 30' x 40' manmade basin
on your property located in Engelhard on Far Creek in Hyde County. The filling of the
manmade basin also included extending the existing culvert that crosses SR 1101 through

the proposed bulkhead. The Minor Modification issued on 24 February 2000 authorized

you to plug the existing culvert under SR 1101 and install a new 42" x 60' culvertf200'
to the south connecting two existing ditches that connect to Far Creek
Your request to modify the aforementioned permit to allow the installation of two
30" x 40' culvert pipes instead of the originally proposed 42" x 60' culvertpipe is hereby
authorize
All previous permit conditions including the 31 December 2001 expiration date,
still apply and remain unchanged. Your modified plat dated 22 March 2000 illustrating
the authorized changes will become a part of the permit file and construction should be
accomplished accordingly.

Dear Mr. Trowele,
Recently your organization authorized a minor modification to my CAMA permit no. 111-%. This minor
modification authorizes the plugging of the existing culvert crossing under SR 1101, and the installation of a new
42" x 60' culvert under SR 1102 sited +200' south of the existing crossing and connecting to existing ditches that
connect to Far Creek I need to make a small change in this modification.
Ron Faulkner of the Department of Transportation in Hyde County does not think that the ditch is deep enough to
accomodate the 42" x 60' culvert we specified. Two 30" x 40' tiles for the culvert would work much better. This
minor change should not fundamentally alter anything.
