OF COASTAL MANAGEMENT S RALEIGH MEMORANDUM TO: Doug Huggett THROUGH: Terry Moore 2 FROM: David Moye rh DATE: 14 December 2001 SUBJECT: 2nd Renewal of Permit No. 38-96 issued to VZWen_ Woodard for development at Woodard's Marina adjacent the Albemarle Sound off SR 1219 near Columbia in Tyrrell County Permit No. 38-06 was issued to Mr. Warren Woodard on 15 March 1996 for the excavation of an upland basin, maintenance of an existing canal and excavation of an access channel as well as the construction of docks and a boat ramp. Subsequent modifications and refinements were made to the permit to include bulkheading and jetties. The permit has been renewed one time. Mr. Woodard has essentially completed all activities authorized via his CAMA permit with the exception of the bulkhead and jetties. Within the last two years he has undertaking maintenance excavation three times at the project site. Therefore, a request for a 5 year maintenance dredging permit seems appropriate. My recommendation is we renew permit no. 38-96 as requested with a 5 year time frame and include the standard condition requiring notification, etc. to the Division prior to any work taking place. The $100 check remitted to cover the requested renewal has been deposited. cc: Charles Jones Raleigh Bland, USCOE .
