compliance. The applicant certifies by signing this permit,that: 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this
permit, the applicant will confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that:this project is consistent with the
local land use plan and all local ordinances, and 2) a written statement from the adjacent riparian property owner(s)
has been obtained, or proof of delivery of certified mail notification of the adjacent riparian property owner(s).
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available

Yes it is a pretty accurate representation but I have attached the one we use for reference in our GIS. They all do seem
to be slightly over the setback in this areas. Any new docks we would like to keep at the setback line. We expanded the
setbacks here in 2013 to ensure safety at inlet crossings along the AIWW and ensure we have the room needed to
dredge or maneuver around any shoals that pop up in the crossing area. So when the dock in this area come in for
permits to reconstruct or ask for an exemption from CAMA to do a 50% repair, that will come through our office and we
will hold them to the setback line, especially in places where we have don't expansions for safety.

Hey Justin,
Quick question for you. I have a proposal for 837 Inlet View Dr in Wilmington. They are proposing a pier to go out to the
pier headline which they are showing as the USACE setback. However my KMZ file shows the setback running —8'
landward of the ends of the adjacent piers. Is the attached Google Earth image an accurate location of the setback or is
the setback location actually at the waterward end of the adjacent floating docks?
