This permit, issued on rx ' `J - u G , is subject to compliance with the application (where consistent
with the permit), all applicable regulations, special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may subject
permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action; or may cause the permit to be null and void.
(1) The project will be conducted in strict accordance with the attached work
plats.
(2) Any additional development on the permittee's property, such as piers or
maintenance excavation, will require a modification of this permit.
(3) Since Hatters Creek is designated as a primary nursery area by the Division
of Marine Fisheries, any future dredging activities, which would encroach
upon Hatters Creek,will not be permitted.
NOTE: The proposed project is certified under General Water Quality Certification
No. 1272 issued on November 10, 1978 for bulkhead construction.
This permit action may be appealed by the permittee
or other qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the
issuing date. An appeal requires resolution prior to work
initiation or continuance, as the case may be.
This permit must be accessible on -site to Department
personnel when the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or project modification
not covered hereunder requires further Departmental
approval.
All work must cease when the permit expires on
December 31. 1989
In issuing this permit, the State of North Carolina
agrees that your project is consistent with the North
Carolina Coastal Management Program.

8. Project summary The applicant is proposing to enlarge an existing boat basin by
excavating an area 30' in length by 10' in width. Also 40' of bulkhead will be
constructed.
Environmental settin
The applicant owns a 1/2 acre lot in Goose Creek Shores Subdivision adjacent to
Hatters Creek. Located on the property is a single family dwelling which is served
by a septic tank sewage disposal system. Also located on the property is a manmade
boating access channel with a boat basin at the landward end. Located in the basin
are a boat ramp and piers. Most of the channel and boat basin is bulkheaded. No
wetland vegetation is present at the project site.
Project proposal
The applicant is proposing to enlarge the existing boat basin by excavating an area
30' in length by 10' in width and to a depth of -4.5' NWL. The purpose of the project
is to enlarge the area around the boat ramp to aid in launching. After the area is
excavated, a bulkhead will be constructed at the NWL.
Environmental impact
The project as proposed should have a minimal environmental impact. No wetland
vegetation will be excavated or filled.
