Dear Mr. Brugh:
This letter is to confirm that on August 11, 1982, Mr. Hugh Heine of
the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and I visited your project site located
near Gap Point in Ocracoke in Hyde County. The purpose of my visit was to
inspect this site a rt of this officers review pursuant to your request
to renew permi 23-73 ated August 2, 1982.
During this inspection it was discovered an area measuring approximately
261' long by 30' wide has been eroded behind the existing bulkhead. This
eroded area is in the area you have delineated on your maintenance permit
as a spoil area. To place fill material in this eroded area is going to
require further authorization from this office. The plat currently with
your maintenance permit is being amended accordingly.
If you have any questions concerning this, please feel free to contact
me at my Elizabeth City office.
Cordially yours,
