Dear Mr. Winslow: This letter is in response to your request dated August 26, 2008 requesting a modification to Dredge and Fill Permit #257 for authorization to construct an expansion of the employee parking lot at the Cherry Branch Ferry Facility in Craven County. Your request proposes to modify the permit to allow for the paving of a 20' wide x 61' long area adjacent to the existing employee parking lot near the ferry loading ramp. The proposed paved area would be 51' landward of the existing basin bulkhead/NWL and landward of DWQ's Neuse River Basin Buffer setback. The paving would result in an additional 1,220 square feet of impervious surface with the Coastal Shoreline AEC, however, total impervious surface would remain well below the.30% limit imposed by the 07H .0208 rules of this Division. This Letter of Refinement authorizes the construction of the requested employee parking lot addition at the Cherry Branch Ferry Facility as described in your request letter dated and received August 26, 2008, and as shown in two half-size drawings (dated and received August 26, 2008). This letter shall be attached to the original of amended Dredge and Fill Permit #257, which was issued on October 2, 1970 and all documents must be readily available on site when a DCM representative inspects the project for compliance.. All conditions and stipulations of the active permit remain in force unless altered herein. Please contact Stephen Lane at (252) 808-2808 ext. 213 if you have any questions or concerns.
