This permit, issued on YZ3 J/gg , is subject to compliance with the application (where consistent
with the permit), all applicable regulations, special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may subject
permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action; or may cause the permit to be null and void.
(1) No marsh grass will be excavated and/or filled.
(2) All fill material will be confined above mean high water and landward of
regularly or irregularly flooded marsh and retained in such a manner to prevent
spillover of solids into any marsh or surrounding waters.
(3) The activity will be conducted in such a manner as to prevent signifi a t
increases in turbidity outside the area of construction or constructi 9related
discharge.
NOTE: The permittee and/or contractor is urged to meet with a representative of the
Atlantic Beach Water Department to discuss potential water line interference
prior to project initiation.
This permit action may be appealed by the pennittee
or other qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the
issuing date. An appeal requires resolution prior to work
initiation or continuance, as the case may be.
This permit must be accessible on -site to Department
personnel when the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or project modification
not covered hereunder requires further Departmental
approval.
All work must cease when the permit expires on
December 31. 1987
In issuing this permit, the State of North Carolina
agrees that your project is consistent with the North
Carolina Coastal Management Program.

SUBJECT: Carteret County, Atlantic Beach, Improvement's to
NC 58 Between Cedar Avenue and New Bern Street and
SR 1182 Between Old Causeway,Road and NC 58 (B-901A)
The North Carolina Department of Transportation proposes to
improve the subject sections of highway by minor widening and
installing curb and gutter drainage. The proposed work.will
require a minor amount of excavation and filling in wetlands
for the drainage outfall in two locations.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation -Division of
Highways makes application for a Section 404 and State Permits
as required for the subject work. Attached are three copies
of the permit application and three copies each of drawings
depicting proposed work.
n Application is being made, by copy of this letter, for permits
required from the North Carolina Department of Natural Resources
and Community Development.

DEVELOPMENT PERMIT
Pursuant to NCCS 113A-119(b), the Department of Natural Resources and
Community Development hereby gives public notice that an application for a
development permit in an Area of Envirionmental Concern as designated under
the CAMA was received on March 15, 1984 According to said applica-
tion N. C. Dept. of Transportation' proposes to construct 1 1/2 miles
of curb and guttering wTh_ two drainage culverts on NC Hwy. 58
within the Town of Atlantic Beach, Carteret County.
A copy of the entire application may be examined or copied at the site
.or at the office of Charles Jones , Division of Marine
Fisheries Office in Morehead City after this date during normal business
hours.
