This letter of refinement is in reference to the March 15, 2016 request by Mr. Alan Bailey, for a
refinement of Major CAMA Permit No. 128-15 issued to you on November 13, 2015. The request is to
angle a 6' x 40 section (the most waterward portion terminating at the platform) to the north in order to
minimize impacts to coastal wetlands and oyster rock. All other permitted portions would remain in the
previously permitted footprint. This development is hereby authorized as requested. All permit
conditions including the December 31, 2018 expiration date still apply and remain unchanged as well as
the following specific conditions:
• The 6' x 40' angled section of pier shall be placed as shown on drawing dated 3/15/16.
Thank you for your time and cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate
to contact me, or Heather M. Styron in the Morehead City District Office.
Sincerely,

Please find enclosed a request from Mr. Alan bailey dated received by DCM on March 15, 2016 to refine
the existing CAMA permit. This permit, #128-15, was issued on 11/13/15 and is set to expire on
12/31/18. The permit authorized a pier and platform.
The applicant is proposing to angle a 6' x 40 section (the most waterward portion terminating at the
platform) to the north in order to minimize impacts to coastal wetlands and oyster rock. If the proposed
development is constructed as shown on the drawing dated received 3/15/16, then the proposal is
consistent with the specific guidelines found in 15A NCAC 07H.0208. This district recommends the
refinement be authorized as proposed, contingent all original conditions apply.
