Issued to Jon Briaas, authorizing development in an Ocean Erodible Area of Environmental Concem (AEC) and
a Hiah Hazard Flood AEC at 1181 North Anderson Blvd.. Topsa6 Beach. NC os requested in the permittee's
application, dated September 24, 2004 and received September 24, 2004. This permit, issued on October 18,
2004 , is subject to compliance with the application and site drawing (where consistent with the permit), all
applicable regulations and special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may
subject permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action, or may cause the permit to be null and void.
This permit authorizes the removal ofa single-family dwelling, decks, and all associated utilities at 1181 North
Anderson Blvd., Topsail Beach, N.0 Any reconstruction will! need additional permits and all information and
re notification of neighbors.
(1) All proposed removal must be done in accordance with the permitted work plat drawings(s) dated
received September 24, 2004.
(2) The permittee is required to contact the Local Pennit Officer (call 910-328-5841) shortly before
beginning construction to arrange setback measurement that will be effective for sixty (60) days
barring a major shoreline change. Construction must betgin within sixty (60) days of the
determination or the measurement is void and must be redone.
(3) Any structure shall be relocated or dismantled when it becomes imminently threatened by changes in
shoreline configuration. The structure(s) shall be relocated or dismantled within two years of the time
it becomes imminently threatened, and in any case upon its collapse or subsidence.However, if
natural shoreline recovery or beach renourishment takes place within two years of the time the
structure becomes imminently threatened so that the structure in no longer threatened, then it need

qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. From
the date of an appeal, any work conducted under this permit must
cease unfit the appeal is resolved.
This pemrit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit
officer when the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or project modification not covered under
this permit, require further written permit approval.
All work must cease when this permit expires on
December3l 2007
In issuing this permit it is agreed that this project is consistent with
the local Land Use Plan and all applicable ordinances.
This permit may not be transferred to another party without the
written approval of the Division of Coastal Management.

CAMA Permits in Areas of Environmental Concern, hereby gives NOTICE that on 9-24-

7. Accept Minor Permit application as complete (25 day clock starts). Copy to DCM within 5 days
8. Send public notice for publication. Copy to DCM within 5 days. Allow 8-15 days from the
date of publication for public comments.
9. Conduct a site visit to verify that all the dimensions and information in the application are
accurate and post sign.
10. Contact applicant if the site visit results in the need for additional information (Incomplete
Application Letter) or additional time for review (Extension Letter). Copy to DCM within 5
days.
11. Copy DCM on any other correspondence that is generated or received during the CAMA Minor
Permit application review process (i.e. letters of objection from neighbors or public). Copy to
DCM within 5 days.
12. Ensure that the proposed development is consistent with the local Land Use Plan, applicable
CAMA rules and any other local ordinances or requirements: then draft a CAMA Minor Permit
with standard and site specific permit conditions and review draft with your, DCM Field
Representative, if applicable.
13. Issue CAMA Minor Permit. Copy to DCM within 5 days. Notify any objecting party of the
permit action. This letter(s) should be sent the same day that the permit is issued. Copy to DCM
within 5 days.
14. Stake the erosion setback line prior to the setting/driving of pilings for project in the Ocean
Hazard Area ABCs. Stake/inspect buffer compliance for projects in the Coastal Shoreline AECs.
Monitor all projects for compliance with permit conditions.
15. Conduct final inspection.

project site address, county, nearest community and name of the waterbody closest to the project;

from adjacent property owners (7K.0208).
