This permit is subject to compliance with this application and permit conditions. Any violation of these terms may
subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for
compliance. The applicant certifies by signing this permit that: 1) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this
permit, the applicant will confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the
local land use plan and all local ordinances, and 2) a written statement from the adjacent riparian property owner(s)
has been obtained, or proof of delivery of certified mail notification of the adjacent riparian property owner(s).
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

If you have objections to what is being proposed, you must notify the N.C. Division of Coastal
Management (DCM) in writing within 10 days of receipt of this notice. Correspondence should be
mailed to 400 Commerce Ave., Morehead City, NC 28557. DCM representatives can also be contacted
at (252) 515-5400. No response is considered the same as no objection if you have been notified by
Certified Mail.
WAIVER SECTION
I understand that any proposed pier, dock, mooring pilings, boat ramp, breakwater, boathouse, lift, or
groin must be set back a minimum distance of 15' from my area of riparian access unless waived by me

Hello Curt,
I was given this email by your office. I own 125 Jennifer Drive, next door to 115. Recently I received a certified letter from Joe Buie at 115
Jennifer. I'm out of state right now, so I couldn't ask him directly for more info . The handwritten letter only states he is going to have his
docks rebuilt.
The form from Coastal Mgmt included , has a checkmark where he wants me to sign and send back to him.
The two areas he wants signed are stating
1-1 do not have objections to this proposal
2-1 do wish to waive some/all of the 15 ft setback requirements
The form also states he needs to describe to me what he wants to do in attached drawing.
There is no drawing attached with letter
I have no idea what he intends to do .
Is it a different dock / pylon / boatlift footprint he currently has ? I have no idea if it will be an issue using my boatlift on that end of
bulkhead without drawing and more info
I would have called him directly but he did not include his number. Only letter stating where to sign waiver. I have to object and decline
waiving setback until he supplies drawing and guarantee rebuild doesn't interfere with access to my boatlift on that side.
Also will need dates. Like I said I received no info, just waiver form saying sign here.
I received the verified letter August 30 . His handwritten letter inside was dated Aug 22.

I have attached the drawings that were provided to me from your neighbor. As we discussed earlier he is simply looking
to replace the structure in its existing footprint and also repair his bulkhead from storm damage associated with Ian. I
have indicated the areas where you need to sign if you still would like to waive the 15 foot set back as well as not having
any objections to the proposed project. If you have any questions in addition to this e-mail please feel free to give me a
call and I can answer whatever concerns or questions you may have. If you would like to e-mail me back a scanned copy
of the notification form or take a picture and send it to my cell phone number listed below I will process the permit.
