improvement and/or the use of existing improvements, whether bulkhead or otherwise, to
function as a "pier, dock, mooring" for a vessel, within 15' of the property line.
It is our understanding that the requested waiver and notice is for dredging purposes; however,

This letter is in response to your letter dated 9/14/2022 regarding your concerns about the
proposal by Mr. Hamilton Sloan to dredge within the basin area at 211 Bayshore Blvd. in
Atlantic Beach, Carteret County. The proposed project has been determined to comply with the
Rules of the Coastal Resources Commission (7H. 1500), and as such, a permit has been issued to
authorize the development. I have enclosed a copy of the permit, as well as the relevant statutes.
If you wish to contest our decision to issue this permit, you may file a request for a Third -
Party Hearing. The request for a hearing will be considered by the Chairman of the Coastal
Resources Commission. The hearing request must be filed with the Director, Division of
Coastal Management, in writing and must be received within twenty (20) days after the
disputed permit decision is made. I have enclosed the applicable forms and instructions

any riparian rights, including without limitation with respect to any dredging or the location of any
improvement and/or the use of existing improvements, whether bulkhead or otherwise, to
function as a "pier, dock, mooring" for a vessel, within 15' of the property line,

the full property line rather than 15' off the line, and we are concerned that such dredging will
cause serious adverse effects on the integrity of the existing bulkhead of 207 Bayview as well
as the existing shoreline, and wildlife and estuary existing in the center of the bay.
