RE: EXEMPTED PROJECT REDISTRIBUTION OF SAND WITHIN THE OCEAN HAZARD
AREA OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERN (15A NCAC 07K .0103(c)).
PROJECT LOCATION/ADDRESS — 2368 New River Inlet Road, North Topsail Beach
Dear Ms. Wilford,
I have reviewed the information submitted concerning the redistribution of sand against and near
your residence at 2368 New River Inlet Road, and have determined that the activity you propose of a
1500 Sq. Ft in the front side of the house to be redistributed to Mr. Fred Burns property at 2389 New
River Inlet Rd. is exempt from needing a CAMA Minor Development Permit and it also meets the
conditions specified below. If your plans should change and your project will no longer meet these
conditions, please contact me before proceeding.
REDISTRIBUTION OF SAND WITHIN THE OCEAN HAZARD AREA OF ENVIRONMENTAL
CONCERN EXEMPTED
1. All redistribution shall be located no greater than 1500 square ft area and shall redistribute the
sand within the ocean hazard AEC, on the property of 2368 New River Inlet Rd and moved to
2389 New River Inlet Rd..
2. No ground disturbance or land disturbing activity shall occur outside the areas identified on the
workplan drawings.
5. This exemption does not allow for any development oceanward of the seaward toe of the
engineered man-made berm. Any proposal to modify or alter the development plan as proposed
will require additional authorization from the Division of Coastal Management.

This exemption does not eliminate your requirements to obtain any other State, Federal or Local
authorization. Construction of the structure authorized by this exemption shall be completed by
December 31 of the third year of the issuance date of this exemption.
