and Natural Resources and the Coastal Resources Commission for development
in an area of environment concern pursuant to Section 113A-118 of the
General statues, "coastal Area Management"

consistent with the permit), all applicable regulations and special conditions and notes set forth below. Any
violation of these terms may subject permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action, or may cause the
permit to be null and void.
Permit to construct a 36' x 10' porch (covered deck) enclose a existing
36'x 10' deck for heated space and install a elevator.
All proposed development and associated construction mast be done in accordance
with the permitted workolat drawing.
1. All construction must conform with the International Building Code requirements and
all other local, State, and Federal regulations. This construction shall meet all
requirements of Section 157.060 located in the Town Code of Ordinances.
3. Any change or changes in the plans for development, construction, or land use
activities will require a re-evaluation and modification of this permit.
4. Pursuant to 15 NCAC, Subchapter U .0406 (b), this permit may not be assigned,
transferred, sold or otherwise disposed of to a third -party
5. No impermeable surface shall be allowed over any functional part of septic tank
system. Septic system must be installed according to Brunswick County Health
Department Permit. All pilings shall be located a minimum of five feet from all portions
of the septic system. All water lines shall be located a minimum of ten feet from all
portions of the septic system.
This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other
qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing dale. From
the date of an appeal, any work conducted under this permit must
cease Infil the appeal is resolved.
This peril must be on the project site and accessible to the permit
ofikzrwhen the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or prgeU modification not covered under
this permit, require further wn'ben peril approval.
Ali work must cease when this peril expires on December 31,

6. Neither the principal structure nor uncovered steps may extend closer than six feet
from the bulkhead and no piles shall be placed closer than six feet from any bulkhead.
Holden Beach Town Code 157.025 (a).
7. All proposed development must be done in accordance with the requirements of
Chapter 158. titled Stormwater Management located in the Holden Beach Code of
Ordinances. The stormwater flow shall be routinely contained within property lines in
question, and not be directed onto adjacent real estate. Within property lines, sheet flow
drainage of stormwater over grassy or adequately vegetated surfaces will be managed in
such a manner so as not to create soil erosion, sedimentation buildup, or channeling water
in any way onto adjacent property.
8. All construction will be out of the 30 foot buffer zone.
9. In order to prevent sedimentation, a vegetated buffer zone must be maintained between
all disturbed areas and the adjacent waterbody or marsh.
10. BEFORE THE FINAL INSPECTION FOR THE CAMA PERMIT OR FOR
THE CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY CAN BE SCHEDULED, A WRITTEN
AND SIGNED STATEMENT FROM AN ENGINEER MUST BE SUBMITTED
STATING THAT THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPROVED STORMWATER PLAN.
11. The structure is currently located in a Base Flood VE elevation 16.
12. Please be advised that the current stormwater ordinance states in part that stomiwater
on individual parcels of land, and areas m etween, so as not to adversely affect the
quantity and quality of surface water flows, s result of natural rainfall, and to control
runoff onto adjacent property, or water inducerosion in any form.

This notice is intended to make you, the applicant, aware
of the special risks and conditions associated with
development in this area, which is subject to natufal
hazards such as storms, erosion and currents. The rules of
the Coastal Resources Commission require that you
receive an AEC Hazard Notice and acknowledge that
notice in writing before a permit for development can be
issued.
TheCpmmission's rules onbuildingstandards,oceanfront
setbacks and dime alteration aredesigned tominimize,but
not eliminate, property loss from hazards. By granting
permits, the Coastal Resources Commission does not
guarantee the safety of the development and assumes no
liability for future damage to the development.
The best available information, as accepted by the Coastal
Resources Commission, indicates that the annual ocean
erosion rate for the area where your property is located is
feet per year.
The rate was established by careful analysis of aerial
photographs of the coastline taken over the past 50 years.
Studies also indicate that the shoreline could move as
much as feet landward in a major storm.
TI,be-flood waters in a major storm arepredicted to be about

Preferred oceanfront protection measures are beach
nourishment and relocation of threatened structures.
Hard erosion control structures such as bulkheads,
seawalls, revetments, groins, jetties and breakwaters are
prohibited. Temporary ;devices, including sand bags, may
be allowed under certain conditions.
This structure shall berelocated ordismantled withintwo
years of becoming imminently threatened.
The applicant must acknowledge this information and
requirements by signing this notice in the below space.
