Subject: RE: [External] Re: CAMA Renewal of MP 18-15
Hey Shaun,
This marina is owned by a small residential working family. In order to complete the proposed work,
there has to be enough demand for the proposed slips. The owner has pursued this work over the last 3
years but has not completed the work due to demand and costs. However, demand is starting to change
and it is anticipated that all of this work will be completed in the next 2 years.
As for work already completed, Mr. Lanier has completed the following:
1.90% of all dredging. The only remaining dredging will be around the proposed boat ramp and clean up
around slips.
2.810' of the 939' (86.3%) of the proposed bulkhead has been completed.
3.5 of the 50 slips and (2) finger piers have been completed.
4.0% of the Boat Ramp has been completed.
The remaining work is basically the docks, piers, slips, and the boat ramp. As stated earlier, as the owner
gets demand, the slips will be completed. The bulkhead and dredgingthat has been completed
consumed a lot of capital and time, but this has set the path to move forward.
We are requesting that this major permit be extended in order to allow adequate time to complete the
proposed project. This marina has been in this family for over 70 years, and I can assure you that they
are building this marina to last for another 70 years.
Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Thank you.
