PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT A SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE, INSTALL WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM, 400 SQUARE FEET OF UNCOVERED UNATTACHED DECK, GRAVEL DRIVEWAY AND UNDERNEATH STRUCTURE, AND INSTALL RETENTION AREAS. 1. The development is set back as far landward from the frist line of stabel natural vegetation as possible, such that the structure is a minimum of 60 feet landward of this line, and is entirely behind the frontal dune 2. All pilings shall be atleast eight inches in diamcter- 3. The footprint of the structure shall be no more than 1,050 square feet this does include the overhanges. 4. Driveway and parking area shall be constructed of clay, packed sand or gravel, 5. All development addressed in these exceptions mast be located landward of the fast line of stable, natural vegetation- 6- The development must be accomplished in such a manner as not to alter the integrity of the frontal or primary dunes. 7. The structwe shall comply with the NC Building Code and all other Federal, State, and local regulations, including the National Flood Insurance Program. S. The structure must be located entirely off of the &Dotal dune and entirely behind the landward toe of the frontal dune. This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. C-omstruction must begin within sixty (60) days of the determination or the measurement is void and must be re-established. Any slructine authorized by this permit shall be relocated or dismantled when it becomes imminently threatened by changes in shoreline configuration. The structure(s) shall be relocated or dismantled within two (2) years of the time when it becomes imminently threatened, so that the structure is no longer imminently threatened, then It need not be relocated or dismantled at that time. This condition shall not affect the permit holder's right to seek authorization of temporary protective measures allowed under CRC Rules. 17. No grading or construction shall occur within any area seaward of were the uncovered deck it to be located. Anything within this area is considered the frontal dune. The rules of the Coastal Resources Commission require that you receive an AEC Hazard Notice anj acknowledge that notice in writing before a permit for development can be issued. The Commission's rules onbuilding standards,oceanfront setbacks and dune alterationaredesiened tominimize,but not eliminate, property loss from hazards. By granting permits, the Coastal Resources Commission does not guarantee the safety of the development and assumes no liability for future damage to the developmenL The best available information, as accepted by the Coastal Resources Commission, indicates that the annual ocean erosion rate for the area where your property is located is feet per year. The rate was established by careful analysis of aerial photographs of the coastline taken over the past 50 years. Studies also indicate that the shoreline could move as much as 330. feet landward in a major storm. The flood waters in a major storm arepredicted tobeabout 14_ feet deep in this area. Preferred oceanfront protection measures are beach nourishment and relocation of threatened structures. Hard erosion control structures such as bulkheads, seawalls, revetments, groins, jetties and breakwaters are prohibited. Temporary devices, including sandbags, may be allowed under certain conditions. This structure shall be relocated or dismantled within two years of becoming imminently threatened.
