Dear Mr. Butler: I have reviewed the information submitted to this office in your inquiry concerning the necessary filing of an application for a CAMA General Development Permit under the Coastal Area Management Act. After making a site inspection on 9/19/22,1 have determined that the activity you propose is exempt from needing a CAMA General Development Permit, provided it remains consistent with your project drawing, dated "received DCM-MHD City Sep 21, 2022", and it also meets the conditions specified below. If you plans should change and your project will no longer meet these conditions, please contact me before proceeding. REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING STRUCTURES 1. This exemption authorizes the repair of a 24' x 15' area (360 square feet) of an existing 15' x 107' boat ramp. 2. No expansions or enlargements of any kind are authorized by this permit. All work must occur in the original footprint, and in no case shall the proposed repair extend more waterward than the existing footprint. 3. No other work is authorized by this exemption letter. 4. The development shall be consistent with all other applicable CAMA permit standards, NC Building Code standards, local ordinances, and local land use plans in effect at the time the exemption is granted. 5. This exemption does not authorize the filling of any coastal wetlands or §404 wetlands. This exemption to CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of your obtaining any other State, Federal or Local authorization. Construction of the structure authorized by this exemption shall be completed by December 31 of the third year of the issuance date of this exemption. Greetings, Attached is an aerial photo that I hope clarifies the area to be repaired. The total length of the ramp is 107 feet. Defined as the distance from the high-water mark to the end of the submerged portion of the ramp. (A-B on photo) 71+24+12=107 The area to be repaired is 24 feet and is marked by a blue X. The width of the ramp varies slightly along its length but averages 15 feet. Greetings, It is the desire of Goose Creek Club to utilize Carolina Marine Works to remove a portion of an existing concrete ramp that has become extensively cracked and repour anew surface layer The ramp has anon - traditional construction which consist of a 158 feet concrete access road on top of fill material that extends 87 feet beyond the high-water mark; then begins the actual ramp slope which extends into the water for an additional 20 feet. The area to be addresses encompasses 24 feet x 15 feet of the existing access road and actual ramp slope. This calculates to be an area of 8' x 15' of the slope of the ramp or 40% of the total ramp slope. The remaining repair calculates to be an area of 16' x 15' of the access road or 22% of the access road that extends into the existing marsh. There will be no encroachment or disturbance of wetlands as work will be confined to removal and repouring of existing concrete. Any debris from the project will be removed from site. Attached or application forms, schematics, an aerial view of the site, the contract with Carolina Marine Works, Agent Authorization and the original 1977 project proposal.
