After making a site inspection on 1-19-05, I have determined that the activity you propose is exempt from needing a minor development permit as long as it remains consistent with your site drawing and materials list submitted on 2-7-2005, and meets the conditions specified below. If your plans should change and your project will no longer meet these conditions, please contact me before proceeding. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR - (G.S. 113-103(5)(B)(5) and 7K.0209) - Structures may be repaired in a similar manner, size and location as the original structure. No expansions or additions are permissible. The repairs are limited to 501/6 of the physical value of the existing structure and the following specific conditions. 1. The project consists of the repair of steps, decking boards, repair of exterior door, repair of lattice work, installing cross braces on 4 lower pilings, repair walkway, replace broken driveway edging, remove dead palm tree, repair the marl driveway, repair outdoor shower fixtures and doors, and beach grass renourishment as shown on the attached drawing and materials list. 2. All of the repairs must be compliant with the State and Local Building Codes. 3. A final inspection, by the LPO, of the site upon completion is required. 4. All beach accesses must have a Minor CAMA permit before construction can begin. 5. The sand fence must not exceed 10 feet of toe of the frontal dune. The sand fence must be constructed on a 45 degree angle and shall not exceed more than 10 feet in length and shall be spaced no more than seven feet apart and 5 feet high. If the sand fence exceeds 10 feet from the toe of the dune a Minor CAMA Permit is required before construction commences. P.O. Hence the total value of the renovations is less than 501/a of the total assed value of the house.
