This permitauthoruer CONSTRUCT A 5' X 8' DECK LANDWARD OF THE TOE OF THE FRONTAL DUNE AS DRAWN ON
SURVEY. CONTRUCT A 4 FOOT WIDE WALKWAY IN ACCORDANCE WITH TOWN ORDIANCE CHAPTER 94.
(1) Ali proposed development and associated canstuction must be done in accordance with the permitted work plat drawings(s)
dated received May 1, 2017 by Town of Holden Beach.
(2) A8 construction must conform to the N.C. Bujldng Code requirements and all other local, State and Federal regulations,
applicable local ordinances and FEMA Road Regulations.
(3) Any change or changes in the plans for development, construction, or land use activities will require a re-evaluation and
modification of this permit
(4) A copy of this permit shall be posted or available on site. Contact this office at g10.842.6080 for a final inspection at
completion of work.

(5) The structure must set back a minimum of 105 feet from the first line of stable natural vegetation, as
determined by the DCM, the LPO, or other assigned agent of the DCM.
(6) This permit is being issued based on section 15A NCAC 07H. 0309 (a)(3).
(7) The permittee is required to contact the Local Permit Officer 910-842-6080, shortly before he plans to begin
construction to arrange a setback measurement that will be effective for sixty (60) days baring a major
shoreline change. Construction must begin within sixty (60) days of the determination or the measurement is
void and must be redone.
(8) All buildings constructed within the ocean hazard area shall comply with the NC Building Code, including the
Coastal and Flood Plain Construction Standards of the N. C. Building Code, and the Local Flood Damage
Prevention Ordinance as required by the National Flood Insurance Program. If any provisions of the building
code or a flood damage prevention ordinance are inconsistent with any of the following AEC standards, the
more restrictive provision shall control.
(8) Dune disturbances will not be allowed because the dune's protective value could be weakened or reduced.
Disturbed dune areas will be immediately stabilized.
(9) All unconsolidated material resulting from associated grading and landscaping shall be retained on site by
effective sedimentation and erosion control measures. Disturbed areas shall be vegetatatively stabilized
(planted and mulched) within 14 days of construction completion.
(10)Any structure authorized by this permit shall be relocated or dismantled when it becomes imminently
threatened by changes in shoreline configuration. The structure(s) shall be relocated or dismantled within two
Years of the time when it becomes imminently threatened, and in any case upon its collapse or subsidence.
However, if natural shoreline recovery or beach renourishment takes place within two years of the time the
structure becomes imminently threatened, so that the structure is no longer imminently threatened, then it
need not be relocated or dismantled at that time. This condition shall not affect the permit holder's right to
seek authorization of temporary protective measures allowed under CRC rules.
(12) In all cases, this development shall be permitted only if it it is landward of the vegetation line or static
vegetation line, whichever Is applicable; involves no alteration or removal of primary or front dunes. is not
essential to the continued existence or use of an associated principal development; is not required to satisfy
minimum requirements.
(13) The walkway shall meet all regulations found in chapter 94. In the Town of Holden Beach code of ordinances.

If you object to the permit or any of the conditions, you may request a
hearing pursuant to NCGS 113A-121.1 or 113-229. Your petition for a
hearing must be filed in accordance with NCGS Chapter 150E with the
Office of Administrative Hearings, 6714 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC
27621-6714, [phone] within twenty (20) days of this decision on
your permit. You should also be aware that if another qualified party
submits a valid objection to the issuance of this permit within twenty (20)
days, the matter must be resolved prior to work initiation. The Coastal
Resources Commission makes the final decision on any appeal.
The project plan is subject to those conditions appearing on the permit
form. Otherwise, all work must be carried out In accordance with your
applicatlon. Modifications, time extensions, and future maintenance require
additional approval. Please read your permit carefully prior to starting work
and review all project plans, as approved. If you are having the work done
by a contractor, It is to your benefit to be sure that he fully understands all
permit requirements.
From time to time, staff will visit the site to monitor the project However,
if questions arise concerning permit conditions, environmental safeguards,
or problem areas, you may contact Rhonda Wooten at any time for
assistance at 910-842-6080. By working in accordance with the permit, you
will be helping to protect our vitally important coastal resources. You will
