Please find attached the PE -stamped drawings, prepared by Seacoast Engineering, PC forthis project. The repairs to the pool itself are limited to sandblasting the interior surfaces, sealing the cracks that have developed in the sidewalls of the pool, re -plastering the pool interior, and redoing the surface tile - surround of the pool to present a level surface. The repair to the pool deck will consist of installing a wooden, pile -supported deck for what is now a combined wood and concrete deck. The construction of the timber accessway is to accommodate access to the beach across a sandbag reinforced dune. This will be a 6-ft wide by 25-ft long accessway. The sandbag repair/replacement will be conducted pursuant to the Variance that The Riggings HOA has recently obtained from the Coastal Resources Commission. It is our understanding that this work is to be conducted with direct coordination with the Division of Coastal Management's Wilmington office, which we have initiated. Kindly accept the submittals included with this letter in support of our request for: • A Kure Beach Building Permit authorizing the work on the timber accessway; • A Kure Beach Building Permit authorizing the repair of the pile -supported swimming pool deck; and, • A CAMA Exemption under the provisions of 15A NCAC 07K .0207 for the timber accessway. I am also including a copy of the agent authorization letter from The Riggings HOA in support of our seeking the above authorizations on their behalf, and a check in the amount of $535.00 as payment for the requested Building Permit and CAMA Exemption. We propose to initiate work on this project on 23 March 2016. Initial work will involve the repairs to the pool itself, and the placement of the piles for support of the pool deck and timber ffMhVED DCM WILMINGTON, NC Completion of the pool deck and accessway structure will take place along with, or after completion of the sandbag revetment work.
