Issued to Jeff Minnich authorizing development in the Estuarine Shoreline (AEC) at 700 Mason Knoll, in WilmingtDri, NC
28409, as requested in the permittee's application, dated May 7 2015. This permit, issued on May 15, 2015 is subject to
compliance with the application and site drawing submitted May 7, 2015 with this permit) and the) all applicable
regulations and special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may subject permittee to a
fine, imprisonment or civil action, or may cause the permit to be null and void.
This permit authorizes: 75 ft Linear ft. Retaining Wail and a 500 gallon in ground Cistern (water tank) for rain water only from
gutters of house as part of Low impact Development Design Landscape
(1) All proposed development and associated construction must be done in accordance with the permitted work plat
drawings(s) dated received May 7, 2015.
(2) All construction must conform to the N.C. Building Code requirements and all other local, State and Federal regulations,
applicable local ordinances and FEMA Flood Regulations and New Hanover County Flood Ordinance. And following all
NHC Building and zoning permit requirements.
(3) Any change or changes in the plans for development, construction, or land use activities will require a re-evaluation and
modification of this permit.
(4) A copy of this permit shall be posted or available on site. Contact this office at 910-79&7348 for a final in on at

This permit action may be appealed by the permiffee or other qualified persons
within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. From the data of an appeal, any ,
work conducted under this permit must cease until fire appeal is resolved. This

(5) The amount of impervious surface shall not exceed 30% of the lot area within 75 feet of Normal High Water (Area
of Environmental Concern); In this case they will be allowed to build a 75 Ft linear Retaining wall and in ground water
tank Cistern.
(6) Unless specifically allowed in 15A NCAC 07H. 0209(d) (10), and shown on the permitted plan drawing, all
development/construction shall be located a distance of 30 feet landward of Normal High Water. No portion of work shall
encroach into the 30 ft. buffer.
(7) All unconsolidated material resulting from associated grading and landscaping shall be retained on site by
effective sedimentation and erosion control measures. Prior to any land -disturbing activities, a barrier line of filter cloth
must be installed between the land disturbing activity and the adjacent marsh or water areas, until such time as the area
has been property stabilized with a vegetative cover. All other disturbed areas shall be vegetatively stabilized (planted
and mulched) within 14 days of construction completion.
(8) Prior to any land development, silt fence shall be installed all land disturbance and shall be maintained, Sift fence
shall be properly toed in to the soil.
(9) This permit does not authorize development within any wetlands or open water areas or 30 ft Buffer area

In reference to 700 Mason Knoll. The homeowner in talking to the HOA thinks they are exempt from needing CAMA,
saying that there subdivision is exempt.

City) and I think they are getting the COD line and CAMA AEC MIXED UP.

Hello,
In reference to 700 Mason Knoll. The homeowner in talking to the HOA thinks they are exempt from needing
CAMA, saying that there subdivision is exempt.
The HOA person seems to be talking about a 1984 date and mentioned John Fullerton's name (Who retired
from the City) and I think they are getting the COD line and CAMA AEC MIXED UP.
The work RW was in the 75 ft AEC and not in the 40 ft buffer as the pie I sent show.

In 1974, the North Carolina General Assembly passed the Coastal Area Management Act
(CA -MA) and set The stage for guiding development in fragile and productive areas that
border the state"s sounds and oceanfront. Along,,00 requiring special care by those who
build and develop, the General Assembly directed the Coastal Resources Commission
(CRC) to implement clear regulations that minimize the burden on the api1icant.
This appliea+ion for a minor development permit unJzr LAMA is part o "the
Commission's effort to meet the spirit and intent of the General Assembly. It has been
designed to be straightforward and require no more time or effort than necessary from
the applicant. Please go over this folder with the Local Permit Officer (LPO) for the
locality in which you plan to build to be certain that you understand what information he
or she needs before you apply.
Linder C idlslh riTulations, the minor permit is to be issued within 25 days once a
complete application is in hand. Often less time is needed if the project is simple. The
process generally takes about 18 days. You can speed the approval process by malting
certain that your application is complete and signed, that your drawing meets the
specifications given inside and that tour application fee is attached.
Other permits are sometimes requ;rcc= for development in V,e coastal area. While these
are not LAMA -related, we urge you to check with the Local Permit Officer to determine
which of these you may need. A list is included on page two of this folder.
