To Whom It May Concern:
I have reviewed the information submitted to this office in your inquiry concerning the necessary filing of
an application for a minor development permit under the Coastal Area Management Act. After making a site
inspection on 7/01/2009, I have determined that the activity you propose is exempt from needing a minor
development permit as long as it remains consistent with your site drawing and materials list submitted on
06/30/2009, and meets the conditions specified below. If your plans should change and your project will no longer
meet these conditions, please contact me before proceeding.
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR - (G.S. 113-103(S) (B) (S) and 7K. 0209) - Structures may be repaired in a similar
manner, size and location as the original structure. No expansions or additions are permissible. The repairs are
limited to 50% of the physical value of the existing structure and the following specifrc conditions.
1. Replacing windows
2. Repair/replace drain lines
3. Replace missing picket on south porch
4. Adding 2 guardrails east stairs
5. The proposed repairs shall be consistent with all other applicable local ordinances and North Carolina
Building Code standards.
6. No changes shall be made to the building footprint.
This exemption to CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of your obtaining any other
State, Federal or Local authorization and N.C. Building Permits. This exemption expires 90 days from the date
of the letter.

This letter is a finalization of our meeting on June 12, 2009. 1 appreciate your time in going over what is needed to
bring this property up to code. The violations are listed below:
Interior
• Upstairs was locked
• Downstairs need some wall repair,
• Shower needs repair,
• Heating unit needs repair,
• Repair leak from the upper level kitchen.
Exterior
• Scrape, prime, paint, re -glaze, and replace broken glass,
• Replace new windows, DP50 wind rating and plywood panels cut to fit and stored on site with hardware,
• Repair/Replace drain lines at upper kitchen on exterior,
• Install address "6"Tennessee, Unit "1"&Unit "2",
• Replace 3 exterior lights,
• Replace missing picket south porch,
• Add 2 guardrails East stairs.
Please be advised that this is the Final Notice for you to finish all the Minimum Housing Code violations that you
agreed to correct.
This is your final notification that the items must be completed within 30 days or by July 16, 2009. If these violations
are not completed, the owner of the property wil I be charged $50.00 a day for each offense and an administrative fee
will also be added.

Notice is hereby issued that you are in violation of the Town Code and/or Zoning Codes of the Town of Carolina
Beach, NC. Immediate resolution is necessary or you will be subiect to penalty.
