notified by Certified Mail.

I understand that any proposed pier, dock, mooring pilings, boat ramp, breakwater, boathouse, lift, or
groin must be set back a minimum distance of 15' from my area of riparian access unless waived by me
(this does not apply to bulkheads or riprap revetments). (If you wish to waive the setback, you must sign
the appropriate blank below.)

It was nice speaking with you on the phone and I hope that I was able to provide you with some additional rule
clarifications in regards to the proposed adjacent project. Per our conversation, I have attached to this email a copy of
the submitted project drawing with some of my field notes added in blue ink. This is my understanding of the proposed
project. I am also confirming this drawing and my field notes with the contractor to make sure that we are all on the
same page. So please take a look at the drawing and let me know if you have any rule questions. Any construction
specific questions will need to be directed to the contractor.
If your indicated objection is satisfied with the additional information, please respond with a simple email indicating

My name is Sarah Loeffler and I am the Division of Coastal Management's Field Representative for the Colington
area. I am working on a permit request for a proposed pier and pilings located at 218 Soundview Drive for Edward &
Christine Kleinstuber. We received a signed notification form indicating that you, as an adjacent property owner, had
some concerns about the proposed project. I would like to discuss those concerns with you and would be happy to
speak with you by phone or email. As part of our protocol, objections are reviewed by the District Manager and ask
that you please provide us with a written statement of your objections. This will help us better understand your
concerns and will allow us to address them during the permit review process. It doesn't have to be a written letter as
an email explaining your concerns will also suffice. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward
to speaking with you.

I spoke on the phone with Lisa Duncan today, and she indicated that her objection was mostly related to her wish
to not waive the 15' setback. I assured her that Coastal Management would honor her choice to not waive. She also
indicated that she would like some clarification on the proposed drawing. So I took the submitted project drawing and
added some of my field notes in blue ink to provide some additional clarification. My intent was to show her that the
project is proposed outside of the Duncan's 15' setback.
I have attached the drawing with added field notes to this email. Please take a look and confirm if my
understanding of the project I correct. I am hoping that this clarification will resolve the objection and I can move
forward with drafting the permit.
