A bulkhead is one type of shoreline stabilization that can be permitted as long as it meets the 7H 1100 general permit criteria for bulkheads. At my request, WT of Dennis and Sons meet with Mr. Hawley today to discuss how any erosion protection for my property would join his existing protection. Mr. Hawley has indicated he wishes to support the project but wants to understand with more specificity what CAMA will support. How do I get on your schedule for a preliminary review? The fee for a bulkhead GP is 400 dollars (check or money order only) and the permit would be valid for 120 days. If you want to try and obtain a bulkhead farther out in the water, then you would have to apply for a CAMA major permit with no guarante ea permit would be issued. This type of permit would have 10 state and 4 federal agencies reviewin g and could take up to 75 days from when the applicati on is accepted as complete . I hope this helps. Since then I have been reviewin g the best options for the property and structure . At this time I wish to pursue remodeli ng the structure . As part of any remodel I would desire a bulkhea d to protect the area under the house from continue d erosion. Both pro perties on either side have bulkhea ds to guard against erosion. As you can see from the attached recent survey the the approxi mate high water mark appears to be due primaril y to storm erosion.
