Publish Notice of Public Hearing Schedule Public Hearing •Schedule Public Hearing for on proposed draft CAMA plan amendment. •See Submittal Requirements for Public Hearings, and; •See Notice of Public Hearing for amendment to a certified CAMA Land Use Plan. •Publish public hearing notification on proposed CAMA Plan (not less than 10 days nor more than 25 days before public hearing on local adoption). Submit Plan for Certification •Send plan to DCM District Planner •See Submittal Requirements for Transmittal to the Division for Certification. Certification •If the plan meets the certification requirements a notice of Certification Decision will be sent to Local Governing Board and Local Government Staff. •If the plan does not meet certification requirements, the CRC shall notify the local government within 45 calendar days. Local Government Staff Division of Coastal Management Local Adoption •Local Governing Board Hearing/ Decision approving draft Plan. •See Model Resolution to Adopt CAMA Land Use Plan (Amendments) Public Comment Period •Written comments/objections are accepted no more than 30 calendar days after local adoption of the plan. •Comments/Objections will be sent to local government. Final Plan Submittal • Submit final print and electronic copies of the certified plan to the Division (within 90 calendar days of certification). • See Submittal Requirement for Certified Plan Local Governing Body Local Planning Board Submittal Requirements for Notifying DCM District Planner about Public Hearing on CAMA Plan Amendment The following items are to be submitted to the DCM District Planner at least 5 business days prior to publication of a public hearing notice: 1. Written notice of the public hearing for local adoption. 2. A copy of the proposed CAMA Plan amendment. Notice of Public Hearing Amendment of the <Local Government> CAMA Land Use Plan Amendment of the <Local Government> CAMA Land Use Plan Notice is hereby given that the <Local Governing Body> will conduct a public hearing on at PM to review an amendment to the <Local Government> Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) Land Use Plan. The meeting will be held at . All interested citizens are encouraged to attend. Following the public hearing, the <Local Governing Body> will consider adoption of the Land Use Plan amendment. Once adopted, the amended plan will be submitted to the Coastal Resources Commission for certification. Written objections, comments, or statements of support shall be submitted to the Division of Coastal Management's District Planner, <District Planner's name and mailing address> no more than 30 calendar days after local adoption of the plan amendment. Further information can be obtained by contacting the District Planner at <District Planner's phone number>. Copies of the Land Use Plan amendment are available for review by the public at the <designated county or local government office> during normal office hours. The public is encouraged to review the Land Use Plan amendment and to attend the public hearing. For additional information, please contact the Director of the <Local Government> Planning Department at Model Resolution to Adopt CAMA Land Use Plan Amendments RESOLUTION OF THE <Local Governing Body> OF <Local Government>, NORTH CAROLINA, AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO PLAN WHEREAS, the <Local Government> desires to amend its CAMA Land Use Plan, specifically the <map /text/ policy> related to >, and WHEREAS, the CAMA Land Use Plan <currently shows/states>; and WHEREAS, the <Local Government> desires to amend the CAMA Land Use Plan to <show/state>; and WHEREAS, on the Planning Board recommended amendment to the CAMA Land Use Plan; and of the draft WHEREAS, the <Local Government> conducted a duly advertised public hearing on the draft amendment to the CAMA Land Use Plan at the Regular Meeting of the <Local Governing Body> on ; and WHEREAS, at the Regular Meeting on the <Local Governing Body> of <Local Government>, North Carolina found the draft amendment to be consistent with the <Local Government> desired vision for the future and approved to adopt the draft amendment; and WHEREAS, the locally adopted amendment will be submitted as required by State law to the District Planner for the Division of Coastal Management under the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality and forwarded to the Division Director; and WHEREAS, a review of the locally adopted amendment by the Coastal Resources Commission will be scheduled; and the CRC will then decide on certification of the amendment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the <Local Governing Body> of <Local Government>, North Carolina, that <map /text /policy page citations> in the CAMA Land Use Plan be amended as follows: <amendment> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the <Local Governing Body> of <Local Government>, North Carolina, has adopted the draft amendment; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the < Manager/Administrator> of <Local Government> is hereby authorized to submit the adopted CAMA Land Use Plan amendment to the State for certification as described above.
