and Natural Resources and the Coastal Resources Commission for development
in an area of environment concern pursuant to Section 113A-118 of the
General Statues, "Coastal Area Management
Issued to John & Lynn Steinke authorizing the removal of an existing concrete block walkway and the construction of an
elevated drip through walkway with electric and water service in the ORW shoreline AEC at 2633 Middle Sound Loop
Road, as requested in the pennittee's application, dated June 3,2005. This permit, issued on June 21, 2005 is subject
to compliance with the application and site drawing (where consistent with the permit), all applicable regulations and
special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may subject permittee to a fine, imprisonment
or civil action, or may cause the permit to be null and void.
❑ Existing concrete block walkway must be removed.
❑ A copy of this permit shall be onsite for regulatory inspection.
❑ Constructed walkway must be elevated, slatted, wooden boardwalk 3 feet wide and 36
feet long according to submitted plans.
❑ An undisturbed buffer zone of at least thirty feet from the mean high water (normal water
line) must be maintained at all times.
❑ All proposed development and associated construction must be done in accordance with the
permitted workplat drawings as submitted.
❑ All construction must conform to the NC Building Code requirements and all other local,
State and Federal requirements.
❑ Any changes or changes in the plans for development, construction or land use activities will
require a reevaluation and modification of this permit.
❑ The amount of impervious surface areas shall be limited to no more than 25% of the 575'
Area of Environmental Concern area of the land to be developed; in this case no new
impervious area is authorized.
❑ No filling or development within the Federally regulated 404 wetlands is authorized.
❑ No sediment or building materials can be allowed to enter the marsh grasses or waters. Silt
fence is or other protective barrier(s) must be placed and maintained between the disturbed
area and any 404 wetlands or coastal wetlands, to keen sediment from enterina those areas.
This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other
qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. From
the date of an appeal, any work conducted under this permit must
cease until the appeal is resolved.
This peril must be on the project site and accessible to the permit
officer when the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or project modification not covered under
this permit, require further written permit approval.
All work must cease when this permit expires on
December 31, 2008.
In issuing this permit it is agreed that this project is consistent with
the local land Use Plan and all applicable ordinances.
This permit may not be transferred to another party without the
written approval of the Division of Coastal Management.

In an area of environment concern pursuant to Section 113A-118 of the

I acknowledge that the land owner is aware that the proposed development is planned for an area which may be susceptible
to erosion and/or flooding. I acknowledge that the local permit officer has explained to me the particular hazard problems
associated with this lot. This explanation was accompanied by recommendations concerning stabilization and floodproofing
techniques.
