Issued to Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Gach, authorizing the construction of a new single family residence in the ORW
shoreline AEC at 411 Beach Road North, Figure Eight Island as requested in the permittee's application, dated January
20, 2005. This permit, issued on February 14, 2005 is subject to compliance with the application and site drawing
(where consistent with the permit), all applicable regulations and special conditions and notes set forth below. Any
violation of these terms may subject permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action, or may cause the permit to be null
and void.
❑ NO encroachment into "404" wetlands allowed.
❑ A copy of this permit shall be onsite for regulatory inspection.
❑ An undisturbed buffer zone of at least thirty feet from the mean high water (normal
water line) must be maintained at all times.
❑ All proposed development and associated construction must be done in accordance with the
permitted workplat drawings as submitted.
❑ All construction must conform to the NC Building Code requirements and all other local,
State and Federal requirements.
❑ Any changes or changes in the plans for development, construction or land use activities will
require a reevaluation and modification of this permit.
❑ The amount of impervious surface areas shall be limited to no more than 25% of the 575'
Area of Environmental Concern area of the land to be developed; in this case 5,614sq. ft. of
impervious coverage.
❑ No filling or development within the Federally regulated 404 wetlands is authorized.
❑ No sediment or building materials can be allowed to enter the marsh grasses or waters. Silt
fence is or other protective barrier(s) must be placed and maintained between the disturbed
area and any 404 wetlands or coastal wetlands, to keep sediment from entering those areas.
❑ No impermeable surfaces shall be allowed over any functional part of the septic tank system.
This permit action may be appealed by the pernittee or other
qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. From
the date of an appeal, any work conducted under this permit must
cease until the appeal is resolved.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit
officer when the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or project modification not covered under
this permit, require further written permit approval.
All work must cease when this permit expires on
December 31, 2008.
In issuing this permit it is agreed that this project is consistent with
the local Land Use Plan and all applicable ordinances.
This permit may not be transferred to another party without the
written approval of the Division of Coastal Management.

1.) Fill material must be sand or loamy sand (Soil Group I) and free of debris and organic material.
2.) The final six inches of fill used to cover the system must have a texture of loam to sandy clay
loam (Soil Group It and III), for the establishment ol'vegetative cover,

fill material must be incorporated to a depth of six inches below the interface. Additional till
material should be added and thoroughly incorporateI In six inch increments.

the top of the side slope.
S.) The side slope of the fill must not exceed a rise to run ratio of 1:3 (Group I Soil) or 1:4 (Group

6.) The till system must be shaped to shed surface water and must be stabilized with a vegetative
cover to protect against erosion.
7.) All fill system Installations require three inspections:
1.) Fill pad construction prior to drain field installation
2.) Drain field inspection prior to covering line;.
3.) Inspection of final grading.
