Upon review of the document submitted for review for a proposed two slip docking facility with a 10' x 18' platform, there
is additional information needed in order to make a permit determination in this case. Please submit and provide the
following to me:
The waterbody is classified as a Primary Nursery Area by the NC Division of Marine Fisheries, therefore I need up-
to-date soundings of the water depths at the location of the proposed pier and platform and in the location of the
proposed boat slips. The soundings that were provided are outdated (2009), so current and up-to-date information
is required.
Please show the riparian access lines at 90 degrees from the edge of the channel or navigation route back to
where the highground property meets the Normal High Water Mark. The lines provided on the documents
submitted are not an accurate depiction based on the rules governing docks and piers and the riparian access
area.
Please set a PVC pole or equivalent, no larger than 3.5 inches in diameter, at the exact location at the center
where the waterward edge of the dock's platform would be located. This should be done prior to my site visit.
Upon submission of the requested information and after the marker pole is set, I will conduct a Feld site visit to verify the
dimensions, locations, and the low tide water depths at which time a permit decision may be made. Please let me know if
you have any questions regarding the CAMA permit process.
