I just wanted to let you know that I was able to make it out to the 157 Sea Trace Lane property today to check
for SAV due to the historic record of SAV in this area. I checked in the areas proposed for the gangway and
floating platform and found no signs of SAV. With that in mind, I don't have any issue with the proposed work.

In order to permit a floating platform over SAV you would need a minimum water depth of 18 inches at a
normal low tide. You could also check with the fisheries specialist with NCDMF to schedule a low tide site visit
with him because of the submerged aquatic vegetation in the proposed floating platform area. Jimmy can let
you know whether he would have an issue with a LAMA permit for this type of development over the SAV or
even if there are any SAV in this location. If he is ok with it then please get him to say as much in writing and I
could then issue a permit. Otherwise you would need a minimum water depth of 18 inches at a normal low tide
for me to issue this outright. His contact information is below.
