Dear Ms. Barrett,
River Dunes Corporation request that the CAMA Major Permit #146-01 and any modifications
be extended for an additional three year period.
The project has been actively worked on for the past three years. During this period the project
has continued its extensive planning and engineering for the active construction phase which is
now well underway. It was expected that this would be a long term project. After years of
planning and permitting, Weyerhaeuser conveyed the property to what is now River Dunes
Corporation. On July 14, 2004 the permit was transferred to River Dunes Corporation. Current
activity on the site include: excavation of the marina basin (90% complete), construction of the
major roadways, construction design and prep for the major amenities. Additionally, the
waterlines are being installed offshe and the sewer transmission lines and transmission station
have been permitted as of November 18, 2004 and are scheduled for construction in January,
2005.
Attached is a check for $100.00 made payable to NCDENR to cover the cost of extension.
It is our understanding that this request when granted will cover any requirement for permit
extensions by the US Army Corps of Engineers and that the 401 Water Quality Certification will
automatically carry with the CAMA Major permit.
Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone at 252-
634-3373 or via e-mail ed.mitchell(a),riverdunes.com.

Ed Mitchell
