We did not design the pool. We assume the pool has been designed to be frangible and that the anchor points have been reinforced such that the pool weak points are not at the anchors. There are eight anchor points shown on the pool drawing. The lowest adjacent grade is listed as 6.6' AMSL and the current flood zone is VE15 (scheduled to reduce to VE14). We recommend installing helical piers to a twelve ton working load capacity with a minimum embedment of five feet below mean sea level. The top of the helical pier will be a foot below the pool. The working load capacity listed earlier is in relation to pile withdrawal. Connect the pool to the helical piers using rods or chains as directed by the pool manufacturer. If you would prefer to use wood piles, a soils report will be required to determine the required embedment and installation technique to get the required withdrawal strength. These recommendations will meet and/or exceed the structural requirements of the North Carolina Residential Code for One- and Two -Family Dwellings If you have any questions, please contact the office.
