and site drawing (where consistent with the permit), all applicable regulations and special conditions and notes set forth
below. Any violation of these terms may subject permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action, or may cause the permit
to be null and void.
This permit authorizes: Construction of a swimming pod; pool deck; and associated landscaping.
(1) All proposed development and associated construction must be done in a=rdance with the permitted work plat
drawings(s) dated received on September 5, 2018.
(2) All construction must conform to the N.C. Building Code requirements and all other local, State and Federal
regulations, applicable local ordinances and FEMA Flood Regulations.
(3) Any change or changes in the plans for development, construction, or land use activities will require a re-
evaluation and modification of this permit.
(4) A copy of this permit shall be posted or available on site. Contact this office at [phone] for a final

(5) The amount of impervious surface shall not exceed 25% of the lot area within 575 feet of Normal High Water
(Estuarine Shoreline - ORW Area of Environmental Concern), in this case, 500 total square feet is authorized.
(6) Unless specifically allowed in 15A NCAC 07H. 0209(d)(10), and shown on the permitted plan drawing, all
development/construction shah be located a distance of 30 feet landward of Normal High Water. No portion of the
roof overhang shall encroach into the 30' buffer.
(7) Afl unconsolidated material resulting from associated grading and landscaping shall be retained on site by effective
sedimentation and erosion control measures. Prior to any land -disturbing activities, a banter line of filter cloth must
be installed between the land disturbing activity and the adjacent marsh or water areas, until such time as the area
has been property stabilized with a vegetative cover.
(8) Any proposed for grading within the 30' buffer from the Normal High Water must be contoured to prevent additional
stormwater runoff to the adjacent marsh. This area shall be immediately vegetatively stabilized, and must remain in
a vegetated state.
(9) AA other disturbed areas shall be vegetatively stabilized (planted and mulched) within 14 days of construction
completion.

We were asked to provide pile information for the pool tie down. We did not design the
pool. We assume the pool has been designed to be frangible and that the anchor
points have been reinforced such that the pool weak points are not at the anchors.
There are eight anchor points shown on the pool drawing. The lowest adjacent grade
is listed as 6.6' AMSL and the current flood zone is VE15 (scheduled to reduce to VE14).
We recommend installing helical piers to a twelve ton working load capacity with a
minimum embedment of five feet below mean sea level. The top of the helical pier will
be a foot below the pool. The working load capacity listed earlier is in relation to pile
withdrawal. Connect the pool to the helical piers using rods or chains as directed by
the pool manufacturer. If you would prefer to use wood piles, a soils report will be
required to determine the required embedment and installation technique to get the
required withdrawal strength. These recommendations will meet and/or exceed the
structural requirements of the North Carolina Residential Code for One- and Two -Family
Dwellings
