This permit, issued on May 25, 2018 , is subject to compliance with the application (where consistent
with the permit), all applicable regulations, special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may
to nnes, imprisonment or civil action; or may cause me permit to be null and voia.
1) Unless specifically altered herein, this Minor Modification authorizes the expansion of the ADA
ramp along the western side of the pier house, all as expressly and specifically set forth in the
modification request and attached workplan drawing. Any additional land disturbing activities and/or
construction may require a modification of this permit. Contact a Division of Coastal Management
representative at (910)796-7215 for this determination.

This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other
qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing daze.
This permit must be accessible on -site to Department
personnel when the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or project modification not covered
hereunder requires fin-ther Division approval.
All work must cease when the permit expires on
December 31, 2021
In issuing this permit, the State of North Carolina agrees that
your project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal
Management Program

Chairman of the Coastal Resources Commission.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS
2) The permittee and/or his or her contractor shall meet with a representative of the Division prior to
project initiation.
3) This Minor Modification shall be attached to the original permit, which was issued to the permittee on
112/18, and copies of both documents shall be readily available on site when Division personnel inspect
the project for compliance.
4) All conditions and stipulations of the active permit remain in force under this Minor Modification, unless
specifically altered herein.
NOTE: Future development of the pemuttee's property may require a modification of this permit.
Contact a representative of the Division at (910) 796-7215 prior to the commencement of any
such activity for this determination.
NOTE: This Minor Modification does not eliminate the need to obtain any additional state, federal or
local permits, approvals or authorizations that may be required.
NOTE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers assigned the proposed project Action ID No. SAW-2017-
00781.
NOTE: The N.C. Division of Water Resources assigned the proposed project DWR Project No. 1992-
0609v2.
NOTE: A minor modification processing fee of $100 was received by DCM for this project.

SUBJECT: Modification request, State Permit No 1-18
Town of Oak Island — Yaupon Pier
Brunswick County
Mr. Everett Pannkuk, as acting agent for the Town of Oak Island, is requesting a minor
modification to State Permit No 1-18. The request consists of the expansion of 115 linear ft. of
authorized ADA ramp from 6 ft. wide to 8 ft. wide. The expansion would result in an additional 230
sq. ft. of decking (see Sheet S-102 dated 4/5/18).
State Permit No. 1-18 was originally issued to the Town of Oak Island on January 2, 2018 for the
reconstruction of the public Fishing Pier. State Permit No. 1-18 is due to expire on December 31,
2021.
Mr. Pannkuk is requesting the permit be modified to allow for a wider ADA ramp along the western
side of the existing pier house. According to the applicants drawing the new walkway will be
landward of the frontal dune. The applicant has submitted signed statements of no objection from
both adjacent riparian property owners for this modification request.
The agent submitted a check (check No. 9598) in the amount of $100 for the modification request
along with the adjacent riparian property owner statements. As proposed, this office has no
objection to the proposed project. It is the staff's recommendation that the proposed development
continues to be CONSISTENT with the Rules of 15 NCAC 7H. 0306.
By copy of this memo, DCM is requesting that the USACE and DWR provide any comment
that your agency may have on the proposed project to Heather Coats of DCM's Wilmington
office within 14 days of receipt of this memo.

As we discussed on site, the Town of Oak Island would like a minor modification to their current CAMA permit. They
would like to increase the width of the ADA ramp from 6' wide to 8' wide. This would occur along an appx. 115' long
section of ramp. This does not occur waterward of the dunes. We have attached signed 'no objection' statements from
the three adjacent property owners. We have filled out all the parts of the minor permit application that appear to
apply. We will drop off the $100 permit payment this afternoon.
