Tara,
Talked to Kathy -As long as they can get the work completed by May 1, FWS is ok with it (all equipment must be off the
beach). If they have to go past, then I will need to request to re -initiate section 7 consultation w/ FWS.

Ta ra,
A couple of items for Oak Island Pier:
I
1. TD Eure is working to complete pile installation this month. There is a bit of uncertainty with the weather. Can we
request an extension to pile driving operation in case weather does not cooperate?
2. The Oak Island Building Inspector has requested that TD Eure add a 6' landing to the pier stairs. This would push
the stairs out an additional 6' wateward.

Thanks Tara.
The extension should be fine, but as Kathy noted, anything past May 1 would need consultation. It would be good if they
could get things completed before then. However, I understand how projects run into complications.
Therefore, the NCWRC concurs an extension should be allowed to drive piles and construct a new landing for the pier.
All work should be completed and equipment off the beach prior to May 1. Any ruts and piles of sand should be
smoothed out prior to leaving the site.
Thank you for the contact and additional information. If there is anything else, please let me know.

The travel lane is 15' wide, but how long is it or how much overall area would be impacted during April?
As far as the addition of the 6' landing, NCWRC has no concerns with the structure itself. Construction would need to be
done within the moratorium or any extensions if granted.
