as authorized by the State of North Carolina, Department of Environmental Quality
and the Coastal Resources Commission for development in an area of environment
concern pursuant to Section 113A-118 of the General Statutes, "Coastal Area
Management"
Issued to Barry and Karen Wishon, authorizing development in the Estuarine Shoreline (AEC) at 1511 N. Shore Drive,
in Sunset Beach, Brunswick County as requested in the permittee's application, dated March 21, 2017, and received
complete by DCM on April 03, 2017. This permit, issued on May_1, 2017, is subject to compliance with the application
and drawing and revised stormwater plan dated and received by DCM on May 1, 2017, applicable regulations and
special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine,
imprisonment or civil action, or may cause the permit to be null and void.
This permit authorizes. Construction of a single-family residence with driveway, decking, and stormwater system.
(1) All proposed development and associated construction must be done in accordance with the permitted revised site
drawing dated received by DCM on May 1, 2017.
(2) Any change or changes in the plans for development, construction, and/or land use activities will require re-evaluation and
modification of this permit.
(3) A copy of this permit shall be posted or available on site throughout the construction process. Contact this office at (910)
796-7424 for a final inspection at completion of work.

This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other quaked persons
within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. This permit must be on the project
site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for
compliance. Any maintenance work or project modification not covered under
this permit, require further written permit approval. All work must cease when this
permit expires on:
December 31, 2020
in issuing this permit it is agreed that this project is consistent with the local Land
Use Plan and all appycabie ordinances. This permit may not be transferred to
another party without the written approval of the Division of Coastal
Management.

(4) The applicant has effectively demonstrated, through innovative construction design, that the amount of +mperv,lous
surface areas may be exceeded in a way that runoff water will be managed and the AEC protected, to aUow ha
percent of impervious areas within the 75' Coastal Shoreline AEC. All proposed development and assccated
construction must be done in accordance with the design specifications of the permitted innovative design, sealed
by the design professional, Edward Brunner and received by DCM on May 1, 2017,
(5) Upon completion of construction and prior to the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy (CO), a letter of certification
must be received from the designer of the innovative system installed, certifying that the permitted system has been
installed in accordance with this permit, the approved plans and his design specifications. Any deviations from the l
approved plans and specifications must be noted on the Certification and a permit modification may be required
prior to receiving a CO. y
(6) The landowner or perm0ee shall at all times provide the operation and maintenance necessary to assure the
permitted stormwater system functions at optimum efficiency. The landowner or permittee shall maintain the
permitted stormwater system for the life of the project.
(7) All unconsolidated material resulting from associated grading and landscaping shall be retained on site by effective
sedimentation and erosion control measures. Disturbed areas shall be vegetated and stabilized (planted and y
mulched) within 14 days of construction completion.
(8) Any proposed for grading within the 30' buffer from the Normal High Water level must be contoured to prevent `
additional stormwater runoff to the adjacent marsh andlor canal. This area shall be immediately vegetatively
stabilized, and must remain in a vegetated state.
(9) With exception of a wooden walkway/stairs and 200 sq. ft. or less of elevated slatted uncovered wood decking, no
other development is authorized within 30 feet of the normal high water line.
(10) All buildings shall comply with the NC Building Code, including the Coastal and Flood Plain Construction Standards
of the N. C. Building Code, and the Local Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance as required by the National Flood
Insurance Program. if any provisions of the building code or a Flood damage prevention ordinance are inconsistent
with any of the following AEC standards, the more restrictive provision shall control.
(11) Pursuant to 15A NCAC, Subchapter 7J.0406(b), this permit may not be assigned, transferred, sold or otherwise
disposed of to a third -party.

regulations, applicable local ordinances and FEMA Flood Regulations,

Dear Ernest G. Crews Construction,
We originally accepted your application under the impression that it was complete. On subsequent review, I have discovered that
additional information is needed to complete the review process. Accordingly, I am requesting that you submit the following additional
information to this office:
1. Include 75' Coastal Shoreline Area of Environmental Concern pulled from Mean High Water (bulkhead) on drawing.
2. Site plan must show that proposed built upon area is not exceeding 30% impervious coverage of area within 75' AEC.
Impervious surfaces shall not exceed 30 percent of the AEC area of the lot, unless the applicant can effectively
demonstrate, through innovative design, that the protection provided by the design would be equal to or exceed the
protection by the 30 percent limitation.
3. Include a cross section of proposed house and associated stairways/decking.
4. Sign bottom of page 2 of application forms above " Landowner or person authorized to act as his/her agent for purpose o
filing a CAMA permit application."

In accordance with the Department of Environmental Quality regulations, we note that a certain time has passed while the application
has remained in our office. Upon resubmission of a complete application, a local decision will be made in 25 days, provided this perioc
is not extended as provided by law.
