Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subject the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
null and void.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies by signing this permit that [)prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the applicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adjacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available
information and belief, certifythatthis project is consistentwith the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Hi Heather,
Thank you for meeting us in the field last week to look at the Carrot Island shoreline along Taylor's Creek. Per our
conversation, Brandon Puckett and I would like to request a General Permit for marsh sills to be installed in combination
with marsh planting along the Taylor's Creel shoreline.
We will be using the same material (Oyster Catcher material produced by Sandbar Oyster Co.) approved by DCM for use
in marsh toe revetments on the Back Sound side for Carrot Island in 2018 (see attached approved GPs). I have included
diagrams of the sills and photos of the materials, as well as photos and descriptions of the site. We will not be exceeding
the 500 LF restriction for a GP, as the sills will only be 394 LF in total.
I have also included photos of the Oyster Catcher revetments constructed in 2018 taken last week, which shows the
successful recruitment of oysters onto the Oyster Catcher material. The marsh shoots are just starting to come up this
season behind the revetment in the attached photo.
