Based on the information provided, I have determined that the activity you propose is exempt from needing a minor development permit as long as it remains consistent with your survey's detailed description dated received by the NC Division of Coastal Management on March 4, 2016, and meets the conditions specified below. If your plans should change and your project will no longer meet these conditions, you must contact me before proceeding. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR Structures may be repaired in a similar manner, size and location as the original structure. No expansions or additions are permissible. The repairs are limited to 50% of the physical value of the existing structure and the following specific conditions. This exemption specifically authorizes the re -placement of pilings depicted on the work plat drawing submitted on March 4, 2016. The development must not involve removal, damage, or destruction of threatened or endangered animal or plant species. The development must not alter naturally or artificially created surface drainage channels. The development must be consistent with all applicable use standards and local land use plans in effect at the time the exemption is granted. The proposed development shall remain consistent with the attached work plan. This exemption to CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of your obtaining any other State, Federal or Local authorization. This exemption expires 90 days from the date of the letter. 9' c rely, son Dail, LPO Cc: DCM — WIRO Christina Watkins, Town of Topsail Beach State of North Carolina I Environmental Quality I Coastal Management 127 Cardinal Drive Ext., Wilmington, NC 28405 Historical Society Piling upgrade Dail, Jason From: Butch Parrish <butch.parrish@charter.net> Sent: Sunday, March 13, 2016 2:18 PM To: Dail, Jason Subject: RE: Piling Upgrade Historical Society of Topsail Island 720 Channel Blvd Topsail Beach, NC 28445 Mail: PO Box 2656 Surf City, NC 28445 Phone: 910-512-0192.
