Dear Mr. Merritt:
I have reviewed the information submitted to this office in your inquiry concerning the necessary filing of an
application for a minor development permit under the Coastal Area Management Act. Based on the information
provided,I have determined that the activity you propose is exempt from needing a minor development permit if
it remains consistent with the information received from.you on April 9,2018,and meets the conditions specified
below. If your plans should change and your project will no longer meet these conditions,please contact me
before proceeding.
Maintenance&Repair
1. The maintenance and repair work authorized under this exemption specifically includes the conversion of
existing parking area to green space(grassed area),as well as the construction of a 6' wide wooden
boardwalk for connecting access to the existing boardwalk.
2. The development must not involve removal,damage,or destruction of threatened or endangered animal
or plant species.
3. The development must not alter naturally or artificially created surface drainage channels.
4. The development must be consistent with all applicable use standards and local land use plans in effect at
the time the exemption is granted.
5. The proposed development shall remain consistent with the attached work plan drawings.
6. This permit does not authorize expansion of the existing structure.
7. This exemption does not authorize a boardwalk greater than 6' in width,nor does it authorize any
platform or decking within 30' of the normal high water line. <
This exemption to CAMA permit requirements does not alleviate the necessity of your obtaining any other State,
Federal or Local authorization. This exemption expires 90 days from the date of the letter.

Importance: High
Per our meeting, here is the plans for the park expansion. The area in the green will be the new green space, and we will
landscape some vegetation between the parking and new green space. We will also sod the new area. This area will
make it safer for the kids coming out of the playground as well as open up more park area.
Once we finish this project I will contact and get you plans on the ADA path we are looking at. I would prefer to get a
better measurement and layout once we complete that.
Let me know if you have any other questions on that project.
Lastly, I need to get plans on a redoing the Rowland Beach Access. Do you know a contractor that I can contact? Also, I
would love information on the grant opportunity for public beach accesses if you have some you can pass on.
