RE: RESTORATION ACCEPTANCE — CAMA VIOLATION #17-29
Dear Mr. Romaine:
This letter is in reference to the Notice of Violation #17-29 sent to you dated November 30, 2017 for the
unauthorized modifications consisting of the expansion of the existing boardwalk in a designated Area of
Environmental Concern in or near Northeast Cape Fear River. The violation took place on property located at
101 USS North Carolina Battleship Road, in Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina. This
unauthorized activity constituted development without authorization and you were requested to obtain a modified
CAMA permit to proceed. In accordance with the North Carolina Administrative Code, Title 15A, Subchapter 7J.0410,
any violation involving development which is inconsistent with guidelines for development within Areas of
Environmental Concern (AEC) must be corrected.
An application was received by this office on December 11, 2017 requesting a modification to State Permit #30-15.
The application addressed the unauthorized activity in the Notice of Violation #17-29 and the modification was
approved on January 12, 2018. Based on this inspection, it appears the restoration is accomplished to the satisfaction
of this Division.
