This shows 2 piers (dock A) 8'x150' and (dock b) 8'x 220'. Also included in the existing photo you will find each slip that is existing is numbered per your request and our on -site discussion. This totals to 18 slips. Also enclosed is the layout of the new request. Replace the existing piers (A and B) with new floating docks matching the same exact dimensions. In addition, adding 4 finger docks (4'x20') to dock A that replace existing slips, one floating dock (4'X1100') along bulkhead, replacing what was 3 slips and to be used as forklift staging area, and 2 finger docks (4'x25') on dock b replacing existing slips to be used for forklift drop zone. The requested plan would convert the previous area of 18 slips to 14 slips, 4 of which are used for launching boats with forklift. Additionally, Riparian property owner notification forms have been included. One form was mailed to NC Wildlife, so I have enclosed the receipt for the certified letter and the printout of the confirmed delivery date. You will also find the required payment of $200. If the bulkhead area you are proposing to replace with a thicker vinyl maintains its current alignment and footprint and doesn't increase the area of uplands or encroach into open water, AND is contiguous with the adjacent bulkheads along the shoreline — it would need to be less than 50%of that linear footage in order to qualify for an exemption. I will need to know the proposed linear footage of the section to be replaced along with the total linear footage of the CONTIGUOUS bulkhead that it is a part of. 2. The current proposals of the reconfiguration of the docking area seem to meet our rule language of the GP .2000 that we discussed before. 3. If a general permit is to be allowed for the proposed dredging area, I will need the following: a. A drawing showing the area and dimensions where excavation is being proposed b. The current depths of the dredge template and the proposed depths of the dredging c. The depth of the connecting waters to ensure that the dredge area will not exceed connecting waters d. A map showing where the spoils will be placed if they are to remain on site to ensure they will not be placed within the 30' buffer or double handled e. A description of the methods used to dewater the dredge spoil and meet our GP requirements (attached) f. You will need to renotify the neighbors specifically addressing the dredging because the GP.1500 for dredging is a completely different permit. You will need to provide the neighbors with the same drawings and project descriptions that you are providing to me. g. An additional $400 payment for the dredging will be required in addition to the $200 permit fee required for the GP .2000 ***It may take me some time to go out on the site and verify the depths of the pre -project site conditions. Additionally, I will return to the project area to ensure the dredging was done within the proposed template area as well as ensure that the dredge depths are consistent with your proposal. It is important to note that there are several additional components and GPs being tied to this project. Any additional proposals may likely trigger the need for this project to go through the major permit review process, especially because this is being tied to significant changes being done on the high ground portion through a potential minor permit. I will need all this information to be provided before moving forward with any permits.
