Issued by WiRO SC14-03 Surf City Permit Number CAMA MINOR DEVELOPMENT PERMIT as authorized by the State of North Carolina,Department of Environment, and Natural Resources and the Coastal Resources Commission for development in an area of environment concern pursuant to Section 113A-118 of the General Statutes,"Coastal Area Management" Issued to John Maher authorizing development in Ocean Hazard Area of Environmental Concern (AEC) at 606 N. Shore Drive, in Surf City, Pender County as requested in the permittee's application, dated February 23, 2014. This permit, issued on March 19, 2014, is subject to compliance with the application and site drawing (where consistent with the permit), all applicable regulations and special conditions and notes set forth below. Any violation of these terms may subject permittee to a fine, imprisonment or civil action, or may cause the permit to be null and void. This permit authorizes: Beach Bulldozing landward of the Normal Low Water line. (1) All proposed development activities shall be done in accordance with the permitted work plat drawings(s) dated received by DCM on February 26, 2014. (2) All construction and/or development activities shall conform to the N.C. Building Code requirements and all other local, State and Federal regulations, applicable local ordinances and FEMA Flood Regulations. (3) Any change or changes in the plans for development, construction, or land use activities will require a re-evaluation and modification of this permit. (4) A copy of this permit shall be posted or available on site. Contact this office at (910) 766-7221 for a final inspection at completion of work. (Additional Permit Conditions on Page 2) This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing date. From the date of an appeal, any work conducted under this permit must cease until the appeal is resolved. This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. (6) In order to protect threatened and endangered species, and to minimize adverse impacts to intertidal and beach resources, no dune rehabilitation activities shall occur between April 1 through November 15 of any calendar year without prior approval from the NC Division of Coastal Management, in consultation with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission and the US Army Corp of Engineers. Shore Drive Surf City to Sand Push February 24, 2014 Dear Jason Dail, Thank you for speaking with me today(Monday) on the phone about our CAMA Minor permit to push sand at our home in Surf City. We have lost a great deal of sand dune in the last two years, and we wish to rebuild some of it with a sand push. We hope to use Cecil Carter, who has done this type of work in the past. I have attached the completed CAMA Minor permit application which includes: 1)the application itself; 2)the signed Ocean Hazard AEC Notice; 3) a sketch of the proposed sand push, 4) letters to each of the two adjoining home owners, and 5) a copy of the certified mail receipts from the post office showing I have mailed the letters to adjoining property owners. I have also enclosed a check for $100 to pay for the permit fee. Thank you for your help with our CAMA Minor permit. If possible, it would be helpful if you can email the Permit to my email address(JMAHER@VT.EDU). Please let me know as soon as possible if anything else is required on my end to obtain the permit.
