Griffin St., Suite 300 Nags Head, NC 27959 Elizabeth City, NC 27909 From : Dr. Joseph Conduff, Jr and Nancy Conduff We would like to explain our reasons for strongly opposing the projected addition to the VL81 pier and boat lift. They are as follows: 1. The existing pier and t-head at VL81 is already significantly channelward of our existing pier at VL80. The proposed new construction will further impede any navigational capability as well as our southern viewshed. It will also raise safety concerns for any marine crafts entering or exiting our pier in either direction from the channel due to lack of southern viewshed. For this we are very concerned. 2. The pristine soundfront view was a huge contributing factor in the purchase of our home at VL80. As you look down the soundfront in either direction, there are no boat lifts on any end portion of any existing docks in Village Landings. 3. The proposed pier and boat lift could possibly devalue our property at VL80 for the above stated reasons. 4. Each home at Village Landings is provided with a boat slip in the nearby canal across the street. We cannot reiterate enough our strong objection to the proposed extension of VL81 pier. Thank you.
