The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this permit under the best available information and belief, certify that this project is consistent with the North Carolina Coastal Management Program. There is some existing riprap, fairly sizable, already in place and I would like to simply add more to an area that seems light on the rock. I plan to use a clean granite rock and not add any rock closer to the high tide line, I have been told that it is acceptable to add more rock to an existing riprap area and not need a permit. I just want to be sure before I proceed. Do I need a permit? From other agencies too? Would you help me with the question or refer me to someone can? Thanks in advance for your time and assistance.
