Statement of Compliance and Consistency
This permit is subject to compliance with this application, site drawing and attached general and specific conditions. Any
violation of these terms may subiect the permittee to a fine or criminal or civil action; and may cause the permit to become
nullandvoid.
This permit must be on the project site and accessible to the permit officer when the project is inspected for compliance. The
applicant certifies bysigningthis permitthat l) prior to undertaking any activities authorized by this permit, the aPplicant will
confer with appropriate local authorities to confirm that this project is consistent with the local land use plan and all local
ordinances, and 2) a written statement or certified mail return receipt has been obtained from the adiacent riparian
landowner(s) .
The State of North Carolina and the Division of Coastal Management, in issuing this Permit under the best available
information and beliei certifythatthis prolect is consistentwith the North Carolina Coastal Management Program.

Thank you Heather. l've attached copies of the certified mail receipts that were sent last Friday, 26 Feb. ls this adequate
or do I need to bring the original copies to your office?
Our neighbor that lives in Kinston received their certified mail on Sat, 27 Feb, because they actually came down on
Sunday to work on their floPertV and they told us they'd gotten it. We haven't heard from our othei neighbor that lives inAdvance yet, but the certified mailwas supposed to be delivered by Mon, 1 Mar, as reflected on the re&lpts. There is atracking number listed for each certified mail that can be used to validate the delivery status if that suffices for your
objective evidence required. Otherwise, I assume we will need to wait until 11 Marcir before you can issue us thepermit?
Please let.us know if you.need anything further to be able to proceed with processing our requirement. We are anxious toget started. ln the meantime, we will await further instructions from you on what the-next steps are. We grealy

Y9u 11e correct if you sent certified mail then you can submit the receipts from the USpS showing you sentthis The drawing is fine as well. I would have to wait ten days from the day they sign for their pait ag" before Icould issue a permit. I can usually have a permit ready within a week depending on my current work load.

Onceyou receive the CAMA permit you will need to,contact the Building and Planning department to see if
they will require a permit from their office. I hope this helps O

Heather, Thank you so much for your quick response. We thought notification via certified mail was all that was required
for the adjacent property owners. We will work to get their slgnatures on the form you provided ASAP. Was the drawing

Out of curiosity, since they don't live here, if we are unable to get their signatures back in a timely manner, will this prevent
us from getting a permit? Our property has 248' of water frontage and the dock will be constructed in the same location
as the existing dock, in the middle of our lot, which is no where near the 15' clearance of the property line.
For planning purposes, can you please provide an estlmate on how long we should expect it to take to the get the CAMA
permit once we provide you all the required documentation? I understand we will need to go to the county for a building
permit once we get the CAMA permit. I apologize for all the questions. This process is new to us. lf it's easier to answer
my questions in person, please feel free to give call me. Thanks again for your help!

All you will need to do to start the process is have your adjacent neighbors sign the attached
riparian property owners statements and provide a drawing with dimensions. Once you have
this you can email it to me and I will let you know when to pay the fee and when the permit will
be ready. I hope this helps.

Good afternoon Heather. I called and left you a voice mail message earlier today. We would like to meet
with you at your earliest convenience to obtain a CAMA permit for installing a boat dock on our residential
property. Our plans are to install a new dock in the same location as the former dock, or rather what is
left of the former dock that has been destroyed by storms. A copy of our dock plans are aftached. The
adjoining properties are vacation homes, so we have mailed a copy of these plans to our neighbo/s via
certified mail, and have verified they don't have any issues or concerns. I would greatly appreciate it if you
could please give me a call back so that we could schedule a time to meet at the property and discuss the
next steps required for obtaining the permits to proceed with construction. Thanks so much! l'll be
