for a minor development permit under the Coastal Area Management
Act . The activity you proposed is exempt from needing a minor
devalopment hermit as long as it meets the conditions specified
below . _ _ you_ plans should change and your oro:ect will no
longer meet :hose conditions please contact me before proceeding .
A private , noncommercial pier may be constructer :f it does
Z3not exceed .200 feet in total length ofore , is not within 150
feet of a fe erally maintained channel , does not extend beyond
the 4 foot mean low water contour line of the water body, does
not exceed 5 feet in width , and does not include an enclosed
structure , and does not interfere witn established navigation
ts . It may be built through wetland vegetation only if
elevated and may have a T-read or platform not exceeding 500
square feet in area at its waterward end if no wetland areas are
covered . The pier must be set back a minimum of 15 feet from the
ad,acent property owner ' s area of riparian access unless waived
by a written agreement . The pier shall not extend beyond the
established pier length along the same shoreline for similar use
and in no case extend more than one-third of the width of the
water body and shall not interfere with shell fish franchises or
leases .
"This letter of exemption is valid for a period of 90 days only. A new

that time."
