Dear Ed:
I am returning the permit for Ms. Nancy Smith for #78 Pelican
Drive unsigned. I wrote you on October 21st that I will be
more than glad to sign the permit after Ms. Smith reimburses
me for the expenses she has caused me due to her neligence
of her seawall, and the fact that she stated that she was not
willing to cooperate with me at all in correcting the problem.
As soon as she reimburses me for having to build a wall between
the two properties and -resoding my grass and reworking my
sprinkler system twice then I will be happy to sign the permit.

Dear Gentlemen:
I received one of your adjacent property owners forms from
F & S Marine Contractors yesterday for me to sign permitting
Ms . Nancy Smith of #78 Pelican Drive, Wrightsville Beach, to
rebuild her seawall . I would like very much to accomodate
her but not until after she has reimbursed me for damage that
has been done to my property due to her neligence and uncooper-
ative manner.
I rebuilt a house on my property on #80 Pelican Drive and had
the yard sodded with centipede grass , plus having it. sprinkled.
When I noticed that the corner of my lot that adjoins hers was
eroding due to her deteriorating seawall I contacted her. I
asked if she would. come by and look at the situation and see
what we could work out to correct the erosion of which was being
caused by the leaks in her seawall . She informed me in no un-
certain terms that she did not have time to check into this and
that she definitely was not planning on spending any money to
correct the problem.
Since then I have had to resod my yard for the second time in
this area, plus hauling in additional sand and having to put
up a wall extention from my seawall down the property line to
try to prevent anymore erosion.
For the above reasons I feel unable to sign a permit for her
until she reimburses me since she failed to even try to work
this out.

objections to the proposal by Nancy Smith to replace the old bulkhead, adjacent to your property, on
Pelican Dr., in Wrightsville Beach, in New Hanover County. The Division appreciates your concerns
about the proposed development, however, the proposed project has been determined to comply with the
Rules of the Coastal Resources Commission (7H.1200), and as such, the Division has issued a CAMA
General Permit for the proposed action.
