SUBJECT: CAMA GENERAL PERMIT RENEWAL REQUEST FOR BRIDGE NO. 15
OVER BARNARD CREEK,NEW HANOVER COUNTY. TIP B-2595.
PERMIT NO. 015870-D.
The Division of Coastal Management issued a CAMA And Dredge And Fill General
Permit for the subject project on November 15, 1996. This permit will expire on November 15,
1997. This project is scheduled to be let for construction in January 1998. Consequently, the
North Carolina Department of Transportation(NCDOT)needs to renew the permit for this
project.
The design has not changed since the issuance of the original permit. All environmental
commitments will continue to be followed during the construction of this project, including a
moratorium on in-stream construction from March 1 through May 31. The Army Corps of
Engineers Nationwide Permit 23 and the Division of Water Quality 401 Certification are also in
the process of being reauthorized.
Please find enclosed a$50 check to cover the cost for renewal of the CAMA permit and a
copy of the original permit. If you have any questions or need additional information please call
